What is Sake?

The sake term itself is the English terminology for rice alcohol beverage. In Japan it is not known as Sake(sakee) its is know as Nihonshu.

What is the ingredients of Sake?

It has 4 main ingredients.
water, yeast, koji, rice

What is Koji?

Koji before anything else is possible it is the most important part of the making of sake. Koji is a mould that is carefully propagated on each grain of steam white rice. Its main function and purpose to covert the starch into glucose which will help develop the conversion of sugar to alcohol.

How do we read Sake?

If we are talking about kanji on a bottle there are certain characters which are quite obvious on all sake bottles which will determine the sake grade.
Junmai – 純米
Junmai ginjo – 純米 吟醸
Junmai Daingjo – 純米 大吟醸
Kimoto – 生酛
Yamahai – 山廃

Tell me the difference of types of Sake?

The difference is how they are they brewed and what style the brewers want to create. DIfferent sakes only shine are certain temperatures. They give off certain profiles that the other sake classifications may not be able to meet. The difference is really just touching the surface how we have different styles of sake. This can be due to the prefecture, rice, water and the brewing method as all breweries are not all the same.

What is the difference between Ginjo and Dai-Ginjo.

If we go with classification, in general, let’s  go into it deeper.
Ginjo by the term itself it is a sake that has been polished at least 60% but has brewers alcohol added to it so it’s not pure.
If we go with Junmai ginjo its the same as sake polished @ 60% but it is only made with rice nothing is added.

DaiGinjo by the term itself it is a sake that has been polished at least 50% but has brewers alcohol added to it so it’s not pure.

If we go with Junmai Daiginjo it is the same as sake polished @ 50% but it is only made with rice nothing is added.

How can I keep Sake?

Japanese sake is a longer life span than wine it is suggested to keep sake within the time of the manufacture year up to a year is considered favourable if not opened and kept in a cool dark place or in the fridge for quality control.

How long can I drink sake after opened?

sake can keep up to a week in the fridge.

About Delivery

Upon order customers will receive an estimation on the delivery as we don’t take payment until we confirm with customers they are happy with the cost.
Customers will receive a quotation on cost and total cost of the order will be confirmed with the customer and paid in full when confirmation is given from the customer.
It will be delivered by a third party who will make show merchandise is safe and secure for delivery.

About Pick up (When can I pick up after online order)

Depending on the time you put in the order for pick up we request at least 1 day to clarify stock availability and handling time to have your stock ready for you to pick up.
